Gravitational eczema and its causes
This type of eczema is usually taken by high blood pressure and is therefore more common in middle-aged and elderly. You can also develop the condition if you have varicose veins, phlebitis or deep vein thrombosis in the past. Even if it is more common in older people, can occur in late teenage years and women tend to have a higher risk of the condition of female hormones and pregnancy are known to increase the risk.
The main cause of gravitational Eczema is down to the pressure on our legs. In younger, because they are more active, however, the rate of return of blood from the legs to the heart is quite good, but the older you become, we become less active, so the blood can often find it difficult to climb up to the heart fast enough. This allows then to collect blood at the bottom of the legs.
If the veins in your legs are weak, varicose veins are likely to appear. You can tell if you have varicose veins appear as blue, Wiggly, bulges raised on the legs. You are more likely to get varicose veins, whether other people in your family and have them that can be achieved by sitting in the same position without moving for very long periods of time.
When the vein walls are weakened, blood does not move up as fast veins usually. This means that the blood can collect and often form a pool at the bottom of the legs, which can then flow through the vein wall and into the surrounding space. This makes the ankles swell and the blood can escape through small vessels that causes red brown stains to appear on the skin.
These can become hot and itchy blisters and can also be displayed. If left untreated, the skin often becomes thin and delicate and appear shiny and flaky. If the skin gets too dry, you can crack or break down if it is constantly scratched or collected. This is basically what is gravitational Eczema.
