Constipation in Pregnant Woman

During pregnancy, constipation is a common problem. The reason is the increase in hormone progesterone which slows down the movement of food through the digestive system. By the growing uterus in the rectum, the problem may be impounded in pregnancy.

Therefore it is important for a pregnant woman to have a colon cleanse and always maintain regular bowel to avoid unwanted discomforts.

And please remember that iron supplements can worsen constipation.
