An organic diet reduces asthma, allergies and eczema in children
A group of British scientists is urging health authorities to officially declare the nutritional superiority of organic milk, with its highest content of vitamins and essential fatty acids. Scientists have written to the Food Standards Agency asked to acknowledge that organic milk is not only free of antibiotics, but is also much more rich in essential fatty acids such as omega 3 which helps brain development in children. Even a scientific study conducted in Denmark last year showed that organic milk has high levels of vitamin E (50% more than conventional, essential fatty acids omega 3, natural antioxidant substances and 75% more of beta-carotene (which the body converts into vitamin A). Further confirmation comes hours from a Dutch study published on arteriole British Journal of Nutrition: the mothers during pregnancy and lactation drink organic milk help their children to fight eczema, asthma and allergies.
The study suggests that these circumstances can register even if the child drinks milk directly biological. The study literally wrote "the consumption of organic dairy products, as part of an organic diet, is associated with reduction in by eczema." The focus on global eczema and asthma in the Western diet is growing (it is considered that these symptoms third of children) in a context of widespread pollution and smog, the provided an asthmatic child is of more concern to some. The scientific work, conducted by the University of Maastricht and the Institute of Louis Bolko Driebergen in the research project Koala (in Dutch acronym that stands for "Children, parents and health lifestyles and genetic constitution) was launched in 2000 and involved 2764 children and their parents. The researchers explained: "A study of this kind had to make some time: The number of consumers who prefer buying organic products, believing more healthy and safe, and is steadily rapid growth, but studies that evaluate the effects of a biological were not many. " The researchers believe that mothers who drink organic milk produce milk that provides some protection if no immunity against allergenic substances.
They measured the consumption of organic food, eczema and breathing difficulties related all asma in children up to two years diet, using periodic questionnaires completed by parents on fixed dates. The diet was defined as conventional (less than 50% of organic food), moderately organic (50-90%) and strictly organic (more than 90%). The researchers found that the influence of organic diets of children and mothers are closely linked: "We can not exclude the possibility that the lower risk of eczema in children who use organic dairy products is due the large consumption of such by the mother , Which accounts for their protection as early as well as intra-uterine period during lactation. " They have also been looking at preliminary studies show that fewer incidences of eczema, allergies and asthma in children of families that consume organic food, use few antibiotics and small were breastfed breastfeeding for longer. A large number of agricultural and biological research have confirmed what common sense suggested: organic farming is healthier and more friendly towards the environment.
The recent work of Dutch researchers confirms that the consumption of organic products benefits also affect human health.
